The Norwegian Explorers 2022 Annual Meeting and Dinner

Our annual English Buffet dinner will once again be held in person at the Minneapolis Golf Club.

We'll celebrate the season and hold a brief business meeting along with enjoying the traditional English dinner. The evening will feature Canonical Toasts, a keynote speaker, presentation of this year's Sigerson Awards, poems, limericks, carols, etc. Attendees will receive a limited edition copy of the much-anticipated and coveted Norwegian Explorers Christmas Annual.

Glen Miranker, BSI will be our keynote speaker for this year's event. Glen is responsible for the exhibition "Sherlock Holmes in 221 Objects" now running through December 16 at the Lilly Library on the campus of Indiana University Bloomington. After its run at the Lilly, the exhibition is coming to the University of Minnesota, so many Explorers will have a chance to see it locally next year. The Lilly's website notes "Sherlock Holmes in 221 Objects draws upon the Sherlock Holmes collection of Glen S. Miranker, rich in bibliographic rarities, manuscripts, books, correspondence, and artwork, all with intriguing stories to tell beyond their significance as literary and cultural landmarks. Named for the address of the detective's Baker Street lodgings, the exhibition presents items to captivate bibliophiles, Sherlockians, and general audiences."

IMPORTANT HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS: Given the average age of our group and the fact that some are living with increased health risks, only those individuals who have been vaccinated should attend. The Minneapolis Golf Club is not imposing any vaccination or mask requirements, though the staff and employees will be masked. Since we will be eating and drinking nearly the entire time, it will be impractical for us to wear masks, and no mask requirement will be imposed on attendees.
